1. Bodyshell Changes
Ford and Holden car models are already using the same kind of bodyshell for years. The reason being that, they’re identical and two of the most famous cars in Australia. They’re both durable and powerful, as passenger cars or police cars. But both cars are subject to changes in the following years, due to race regulations promoting parity between the race cars.
The original shells were either shortened or lengthened. Some parts of the vehicle are now made from composite materials to reduce cost. These are the front door on the passenger side, the front guards, the rear quarter panels, and rear doors. Building the car body’s feature into a roll cage, that serves as a control chassis. The driver side of the cage undergoes customization, to protect him from crashes and collisions.
2. Supercar Engine and Drivetrain
Competitors have the option to choose generic engines from V8 supercars, or the ones from their own. It must be uniform electronic fuel injection 5-liter v8 engines. There are slight differences between the engines Ford and Holden use on their cars, and the ones Mercedes and Volvo use, in terms of the number of valves per cylinder. All race cars shall utilize front-engine, as well as, rear-wheel drive.
Anti-roll bars link the wheels on both sides of the car to each other, with installations on the front and back. As the car rolls, it simply tries to twist the bar.
