Tesla’s popularity is growing by the day, with more and more people getting intrigued by the newest Tesla models. With hybrid cars gaining lots of attention in the automotive industry, you’ll definitely want to check out the company spearheading this revolution. Here are five of the most prominent and highly anticipated Tesla models known today.

Tesla Models | Which One Should You Pick?

1. Tesla Model S 2017

The Model S is Tesla’s flagship and has proven itself to be reliable since its introduction five years ago. If you’re advocating for the alternative-fuel movement, then get this car by all means. This car features the Ludicrous mode which boosts the vehicle’s speed. If turned on, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 in just 2.5 seconds. Starting at $75,700, you’ll get one of, if not the best, electric cars on the market. Plus, you get to recharge for free at any of the Supercharger stations deployed by Tesla nationwide.

2. Tesla Model X

As Tesla’s premium car, the Model X will easily justify why it’s worth a little more than the Model S. The 75D and P100D variants can cover from 238 to 295 miles worth of travel distance, respectively. Its acceleration speed is breathtaking as it can immediately hit more than 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. Its self-driving function is fun to watch, so imagine how awesome it would be to drive it yourself.

As awesome as it may sound, the Model X is criticized for its Falcon Wing doors which make it harder and slower to close. But, if you’re a Back to the Future fan and love the Delorean, this may not be an issue.

3. Tesla Model Roadster

The Roadster is making a return in 2020 and is poised to be one of the fastest cars on the market once its release date arrives. Tesla claims this coupe can accelerate to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds and can go as fast as 250 mph. The base model is estimated to cost $200,000, while the first 1,000 units (called the Founder Series) will cost $250,000.

4. Tesla Model 3

A post shared by CarLifestyle (@carlifestyle) on May 20, 2018 at 1:53pm PDT

Tesla Model 3 is a sports sedan intended to help the average income earner get their hands on a budget-friendly hybrid car. It is leagues below the other Tesla models but do not let its price tag of $36,000 make you think it’s a subpar vehicle.

This hybrid car is fast in its own right as it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. It can also go as far as 220 miles when fully charged. It can be upgraded up to 310 miles if a long-range battery (costing $9,000) is installed. It also includes a self-driving function but is not yet ready for full autonomy.

Some might disagree with the idea of the Model 3 being a budget-friendly car. In a sense, they are correct. Adding the long-range battery will put its price to $45,000 and further upgrades like the heated front seats and leather upholstery will put it at around $55,000. Not to mention, owners have to pay for electrons in the Supercharger network, which usually come free of charge for the Model S and X.

5. Tesla Model Y

Similar to the Roadster, the Model Y is yet to be unveiled to the public. Production is expected to start in 2019 as Tesla looks to avoid the setbacks the Model 3 experienced. The company will also limit the volume of vehicles they will release and are positioning this model for the Chinese market. It is expected to be smaller than the Model X so one can assume it will be a compact SUV.
