Mercedes-Benz Testimonials | Behind The Wheel Reviews

March 30, 2018 By Jason Perkins Leave a Comment

Mercedes-Benz testimonials are always a go-to resource for people who wish to buy from this world-renowned car manufacturer. For decades, Mercedes-Benz has been producing top-of-the-line luxury cars that don’t skimp on comfort nor performance. Today, we will be laying down five of the top-selling Mercedes-Benz cars you might want to take a look at. We cobbled together real reviews from actual drivers to give you a sense of how these cars perform and which one you might want to pick.

Mercedes-Benz Testimonials | Road Test Thoughts

1. Mercedes-AMG Project One

What if we told you about taking a Mercedes-built F1 car and placing it on the street? We imagine you’d be surprised. However, that’s because you haven’t heard of the Mercedes-AMG Project One yet. Mercedes-Benz did a lot of optimization to this beauty. They took the F1’s lightweight V6 engine and toned it down for the street.

The 50,000 RPM capacity of the Formula 1 car has been downsized to allow for 10,000 RPM for the Project One. In addition to that, Mercedes also attached the F1’s Motor Generation Unit-Heat (MGU-H) and applied it to the Project One, allowing for lagless turbo spooling. Csaba Csere of Car and Driver sums up the Project One’s good qualities in one of their Mercedes-Benz testimonials:

Mercedes said the Project One has a top speed of more than 217 mph and can accelerate to 124 mph in less than 6.0 seconds. If it delivers on those figures, that acceleration would exceed that of the Bugatti Veyron (zero to 120 mph in 7.2 seconds), the Porsche 918 (the same in 6.7), or any of the other recent hyperexotics that we haven’t tested—in a car with air conditioning, power windows, and the Mercedes COMAND infotainment system.

2. Mercedes-Benz CLA Class

If you’re looking for an affordable luxury car, you’re in for a treat. Welcome the Mercedes-Benz CLA Class, the latest baby in the Mercedes-Benz stable. It is what most people can call an “entry-level” luxury car. It starts at a nifty $37,000, but that’s for the base model. Luxury car owners will expect more bells and whistles, which can easily add another $20,000 to the price tag.

The CLA class is powered by a turbocharged 2.0 inline-4, capable of putting out around 200 HP. This means it can sprint from 0 to 100km in 7 seconds – not bad for a luxury sedan, to be sure. The sleekness of its design adds to its aerodynamics, as well as its charm. The angry headlights lend a rather striking look to an otherwise normal-looking sedan. Without a doubt, people will know you’re driving a Mercedes-Benz. Here is Aaron Cole from The Car Connection, with one of his Mercedes-Benz testimonials for the CLA Class:

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is a gorgeous shape in an impressive package. Equally impressive? Its ability to get expensive, even despite being the most affordable sedan in Mercedes’ stable.

3. Mercedes-Benz C Class

The CLA Class has taken the throne as Mercedes-Benz’s entry-level car, elevating the well-loved C Class to at least mid-range status. Not much has changed in how it looks. The interiors are all still rather pretty, and you still get your leather seats. It runs on a C300 turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with an option for a plug-in hybrid besides. If you’re feeling extra speedy, there’s also a V6 variant you can get your hands on. All in all, the C Class series offers up an excellent selection for any kind of driver who wants a little more oomph to their luxury car.

The C-Class also comes with different trims. You can get the C Class as a sedan, a sporty coupe, or a look-at-me convertible. It truly takes the driver’s personality into account, which is why there are so many options for customization. If you’re not exactly a speed demon and prefer driving in comfort, choose the C Class over any AMG variant. Here’s Travis Langness of Edmunds Expert Review’s Mercedes-Benz testimonials on the C Class:

Of course, there are other entry-level luxury sedans, coupes, and convertibles that may catch your eye. But it would be a glaring omission if the 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class didn’t end up on your short list.

4. Mercedes-Benz E Class

This excellent entry into the Mercedes-Benz fleet has taken its place as a well-loved vehicle. The thousands of E Class vehicles have been sold since its release. The 2018 models are no exception. Performance and comfort blend together in a luxury package that justifies the hefty price tag. It seats 4-7 people and is able to push out at least 500 HP when needed. There are options for both all-wheel or rear-wheel drive, depending on your needs (and personality, of course).

For a luxury midsize sedan, it’s pretty expensive starting at $53,000. However, you’ll notice it’s worth it as soon as you step behind the wheel. Excellent hand-stitched seats, a steering wheel that feels comfortable, and enough features on your dashboard to keep you happy are some of the first impressions you’ll have. Cody Trotter writing for US News can sum up the experience succinctly:

Yes, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is an excellent vehicle. Whether you want performance or comfort, this car has something for you. It has a lineup of energetic turbocharged engines, composed handling, and a smooth ride – as well as arguably the nicest interior in the class. You can probably win some bar bets by having people try to name a feature the E-Class doesn’t offer. Additionally, the seats provide all-day comfort.

5. Mercedes-Benz SLC Class

Mercedes makes really good convertibles. Case in point is the SLC Class, a convertible that feels like a sports car and handles exactly like one. This hard-top convertible sports a 2.0-liter turbo that puts out 241 horsepower, enough for cruising or engaging in some late-night speeding. The unassuming engine (as the V8 engine was retired in the 2018 model) can still take you from 0 to 100kph in less than 6 seconds – admirable, considering the downgrade.

The soft contours of its predecessor, the SLK, has been replaced. The SLC class now features an angular, angrier look that will surely catch the eye of anyone you pass. At the front is a dashboard with illuminated dials, a 7.0-inch graphics display, and interiors worthy of the Mercedes pedigree. Riding the SLC Class feels a lot like a spa day indeed, minus the mani-pedi. Here’s what Marty Padgett of The Car Connection has to say about the SLC Class:

We think the Mercedes SLC 300 and the uprated AMG SLC43 still are charming two-doors worthy of consideration if you’re interested in a Z4, or in a folding-hardtop convertible. They’re not Porsche-like track stars, but they’re strong performers with better comfort.

When reading Mercedes-Benz testimonials, you come across myths. Here is AutoExpertTV to tell you the truth!

When you get a Mercedes-Benz, you’re paying for luxury and comfort, as well as speed and handling. No other car manufacturer gives so much detail to the overall experience as Mercedes-Benz does. Without a doubt, these cars will last you for miles and miles and without even breaking a sweat. You must seriously consider getting one of these as your next car. If these Mercedes-Benz testimonials are to be believed (and they should be), it’s a decision you are never going to regret.
