1. 1995 McLaren F1
The McLaren F1 was the company’s very first road legal vehicle. The company utilized plenty of F1 technologies. With a 6.1L BMW s70/2 V12 engine, it has a maximum speed of 391 km/h. It’s also popularly noted as the fastest production car with an aspirated engine. At present, an F1 can be bought for more than US$13 million.
2. 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
Back in 2003, the companies Mercedes-Benz and McLaren worked together to develop the grand tourer Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, priced at around half a million. During the project, they aimed to produce 500 cars per year for seven years. But when the project closed in 2009, they only produced 2000 vehicles in the span of six years. It had a top speed of 200km/h and can reach a speed of 60km/h within 4 seconds.
3. 2009 Stirling Moss
One of the vehicles produced during McLaren’s joint project with Mercedez-Benz was the Speedster with the body code Z199 dedicated to Stirling Moss. With a 5.5L V8 engine and 650 horsepower, the McLaren Speedster can accelerate to 100km/h within 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 350km/h. This McLaren car cost more than US$1 million.
4. 2013 McLaren P1
When the McLaren P1 first came out in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, it was called a true hypercar. Its hybrid engine allowed it to reach 100km/h within 2 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h. In 2014, the starting price for the P1 was more than US$1 million.
5. 2016 McLaren 675LT
After the Speedster, the McLaren 675LT is next in power and speed. This luxury supercar can reach 100km/h within 2.9 seconds. It runs on 675 horsepower with a 700 Nm and 7100 RPM of torque. This supercar is set at around US$345,000.
6. McLaren MP4-12C
The McLaren car model MP4-12C is the first supercar the company designed and manufactured on their own. Its custom engine is a 3.8L V8 twin-turbo engine with the Carbon MonoCell chassis. Today, the now-called McLaren 12C has a price of US$229,000 and has a convertible version called the 12C Spider.
7. Death of Bruce McLaren
Bruce McLaren, the founder of McLaren, died in a tragic accident at age 32 back in 1970. He was testing the company’s new M8 CanAm in England, at the Goodwood Circuit, when the vehicle destabilized and hit a bunker.
