- 4-cam, 4-valve per cylinder
- Kawasaki engine
Features and Pricing
Boxer-Bike is easily the best Lamborghini can partner with since they are well-known for their extensive use of aerospace-technology. They also use super lightweight frames so the motorcycles can accelerate faster. This was then labeled as the Lamborghini Design 90 and cost twice as much as other popular motorbikes during that time. It was estimated to cost between $50,000 and $70,000 USD (£30,000 – £40,000). It also didn’t help as Lamborghini only released 20 to 25 of these motorbikes.
Lamborghini is best known for releasing limited amounts of certain models but that might not be the case for this one. The Chief Engineer of this project, Claude Fior, died in an aircraft accident in 2001. This possibly led to the project’s abrupt end. Currently, one of these bikes is still owned by one of the founders of Boxer-Bike.
New Lamborghini Motorcycle on the Horizon?
With the financial backing of Audi, Lamborghini is back in the motorcycle business and is poised to develop another innovative automobile like the Urus and Egoista. With their rivals Ferrari and Ducati getting the majority of the motorcycle industry’s market share, Lamborghini may just give them a run for their money. However, little is known about this motorcycle as of this writing. It is said to have a 1000cc Inline 4-cylinder engine and is actually an ABS Honda CBR 1000 with the exterior crafted by Lamborghini.
Lamborghini Motorcycle Release Date
According to reports, the Chak Motors Company is the manufacturer behind this prototype and is rumored to be called the Molot. It is also rumored this unit is built for quantity and might be lacking in the quality department. Regardless, this project that started in 2015 still has a long way to go before hitting the roads. This means significant tweaks can still be made, leading to the improvement of its overall quality.
Here’s the latest rumbling on a possible Lamborghini motorcycle release courtesy of Mich Motorcycle:
The Lamborghini motorcycle might be nothing but a prototype for now, but don’t be surprised if the Italian company decides to proceed with this idea. Yes, there have been several attempts to mass produce a motorcycle line, but the luxury manufacturer can’t be blamed for not wanting to step out of their comfort zone. On the bright side, they have been a household name in the luxury car department so branching out and asserting their dominance to other fields is still likely. As soon as the demand arises, it shouldn’t be too difficult for the Lamborghini motorcycle to be a reality.
