Basic Luxury Car Maintenance Checklist

October 19, 2017 By Terry Cunningham Leave a Comment

Everyone dreams of having a fancy luxury car. There is such a sense of pride and prestige when you own one. However, having a luxury car means you also have to perform luxury car maintenance. After all, a lot goes into keeping these powerful machines in top condition. With this simple checklist, we hope to make that chore a little easier.

The Basics of Luxury Car Maintenance

1. Follow Your Car Manufacturer’s Maintenance

You can’t just get your expensive Ferrari fixed up in any old corner car repair shop. These are complex machines that need to be handled by highly trained professionals. Even if it’s a simple oil change, it’s still best to let those who are used to dealing with luxury cars handle it.

2. Exercise Common Sense

Park your luxury car in a garage to avoid damage from intense heat or cold. Don’t stop your car abruptly, as this can damage the pedal and rotors. In addition, keep your tires inflated to make sure they don’t wear down too quickly. These basic car maintenance tips carry even more weight when dealing with an expensive luxury car.

3. Wash Your Car Frequently

Wash your car every few weeks to remove all the dirt and grime it accumulates within that time. Furthermore, don’t use your hose’s strongest setting, which could create scratches and paint damage. Instead, get two buckets and fill the first with water and the second with a mixture of water and car washing soap. Remember to polish it after washing to keep that brand new car shine.

4. Use High-Quality Cleaning Products

You bought an expensive car, but you’re gonna skimp on using the best products? Treat your car well, and it will last a long time.

5. Buy a Headlight Renewal Kit

The prolonged exposure to light can sometimes discolor the plastic of your headlights. You can remove that and accumulated dirt by using a headlight renewal kit. These kits are simple to use, and they can keep your car looking and functioning great.

6. Clean the Interior

Clean the Interior | Basic Luxury Car Maintenance Checklist

Just like with people, cars’ insides matter just as much as their outsides. Interior car maintenance is meticulous, but necessary. For cars with fabric seats, use shampoo; for cars with leather seats, use leather conditioner. Vacuum the interior of your car’s floors. Lastly, of course, keep your car smelling great with an air freshener.

This video by Acur It Auto Repair sums up why luxury car maintenance is expensive. Owning a luxury car may be a perk, but it’s also a responsibility:

Luxury cars require more attention and care than regular cars. Trips to the repair center and replacement parts can get expensive. That means it’s up to you to keep your car in good condition. Car maintenance can sometimes feel like a full-time job, but it’s all worth it in the end.
